From all the rapturous reviews I was expecting a little bit more. The essential message of this book -- be honest (even if it hurts) in real estate -- is great. Nowadays, clients know too much from the internet to try to pull the wool over their eyes.However, I felt this book fell short in the nuts and bolts department. It calls itself a training guide for the first year, but there was not a lot of specific details/plans/paths on what to do. He speaks generally about how to do a lot of different things: find a mentor, marketing, presentations, working with buyers, etc. But I felt the actual breakdown of what/when/how to do these things was missing.There are close to 30 chapters in this book, and the vast majority are under 5 pages, which should tell you a lot. He tackles a wide swath of topics, but without great detail. Most of it is common sense: be honest, work hard, believe in yourself, don't give up.I think it could be a really good book upon it's second edition, if he takes the time to really flesh out his chapters with specific game plans to really boost your first year is real estate.

I had listened to Mario's podcasts and have been considering whether real estate would be a good option for me or not. I started to read the book and after a few chapters I emailed Mario with a question. He very promptly got back to me and really answered the questions about my main concerns. Mario is very down to earth and you can tell when speaking to him that he knows what he is talking about. It was very refreshing reading a real estate book that wasn't all about pushy selling. I appreciate the way Mario has built his real estate career and I feel any agent could learn a lot from this book.

I had a hard time choosing which real estate book to begin with as I just received my real estate license. Luckily, I stumbled across "The Honest Real Estate Agent" by Mario Jannatpour and it was the perfect beginning book! The book provided tons of insightful tips and advice for people that are starting their career as an agent. Very easy read and the information I learned from the book, I will definitely be referring back to throughout my career. I also emailed Mario for the bonus materials that came with purchasing the book and he responded instantly. I highly recommend this book!

I guess I was hoping for a little more actual real estate advice, and less of a coaching book. Wasn't that helpful to me, however for a person who has never had sales or business experience, it's more of a guide about working for yourself than practical know how for the real estate industry.

I highly recommend this book to anyone either thinking of taking the Real Estate course to test for a Real Estate Broker's License or anyone who just received their license! First of all, I ordered the Kindle version of this book and even though I don't have a Kindle, I was able to download kindle app for free on my iphone and read the book instantly, no waiting. I chose to purchase this book after watching some youtube videos by Mario Jannatpour. I feel like he really broke down step by step the ways to succeed and the things that you as a new Real Estate Agent you MUST DO IN YOUR FIRST 30 DAYS as a Broker. Mario Jannatpour is very detailed with his advice and he helps with a business plan and a plan for videos and social media. Also, Mario recommends starting on a team or as a Buyer's Agent. So, I as a brand new Agent have decided to take this path and I start this week with a Buyer's Team in Lakewood, CO! I am so excited for this new career! Thank you Mario Jannatpour for your videos and for your book!

I would highly recommend this book to anyone beginning in real estate or looking to refocus the way they do business as a real estate agent. Mario delivers real advice and techniques in this book. A lot of other books offer too much fluff with little practical knowledge to apply to your daily career. This is not the case with Mario's book. He is offering valuable information here. High praise for this book as well as Mario's podcast, where he also delivers excellent content and countless interviews with agents across the country, all for free! His podcast has the same name as his book so it's easy to find. Keep up the great work Mario!

It stresses, being an honest and ethical Real Estate Agent.It teaches you about caring more for your clients than just your commission checks and it lets you know what real client really think of Real Estate Agents.If you want to last in Real Estate and keep return clients, be an honest Real Estate Agent. I love this book! Machu Picchu is one of my favorite places on this planet and the author captures the true essence of this awe inspiring place.Not only does Machu Piccu have a huge presence, but the textures, weather, light, temperature and colors are so ever dynamic. The author captures the entire experience ... Love the picture spread on page 72-73 ... shooting the perspective of looking thru a stone window opening to the shear peaks, their sharpness covered with rough overgrowth, wispy clouds passing, and there in the thick stone windowsill is a puddle of water reflecting sunlight. Page 55 how the backside of the stone condor is overgrown with bromeliads, vivid wildflowers,vivid mountains in the background, one peak completely blocked out with the heavy clouds that are constantly blowing thru, but are now the perfect backdrop to jungle like tree which pops from the page. The picture captures 4 focal points each at a different depth. Then the photo on page 39 how each raindrop reflects lights and hangs at the tip of each stick ... you just wait for them to drop ... and the first picture on page 15 well, there are no words ... maybe "it's exactly like that!" would work.The Author's notes at the back of the book also bring more appreciation for each photo ... because in reality you are there with many many other tourists, yet your experience is all yours as if it was only you standing there ... and the Author captures that personal experience.A wonderful book that brought back many memories of Machu Picchu; each picture you could step right into and experience this magical place all over again.

I bought the book for the professional photos and information~while at Machu Picchu I was fully present and enjoyed the total view, not through a view finder. A photographer once told me he buys books of places he visits and only takes a few snapshots~that way he can fully enjoy the experience~it's a practice I've done ever since and this book is a fantastic keepsake of Machu Picchu!

The book contains beautiful pictures of a magnificent site. Although it has been more than 25 years since I visited Machu Picchu, I still felt some connection with the scenic presentations provided in the book regarding a timeless spot of history.

"Gershwin: Complete Works for Solo Piano" (abbreviated GCW here) is a selection of some of Gershwin's well-known pieces demanding greater virtuosity from the solo pianist than is seen with "50 Gershwin Classics" (abbreviated 50GC), which provides in addition to the piano part the vocal music and lyrics. The piano part for 50GC is fun to play and would sound good in a nightclub setting, but it is less challenging than GCW.To hear the difference between the music in GCW and 50GC, you can listen online to samples of "The Man I Love" in Frank Braley's album "Gershwin: Piano Works" and in Luca Marincola's album "My Favorite Gershwin". Braley appears to be playing the version in GCW, but Marincola is following 50GC. Quarter notes in 50GC tend to become chords in GCW. GCW has more appoggiaturas and dotted rhythms. "The Man I Love" in GCW requires three staves to accommodate the giant two-octave chords in the higher range.To gauge the level of difficulty of GCW, three Gerhswin preludes (including "Blue Lullaby") are listed in the Music Teacher's Association of California (MTAC) Piano Syllabus 2012 as level 8 or 9 in the repertoire list. Most pieces in GCW would correspond to levels 9-Advanced. GCW appears in the MTAC advanced repertoire list.I feel that the printing is crisper in GCW than in 50GC. GCW suggests pedaling in those pieces that may need it. The editor provides some fingering suggestions in GCW, but 50GC does not. 50GC has a larger selection of Gershwin's more popular songs, but GCW is better for the serious piano soloist. For me, the answer to the question in the title of this review is definitely "yes". Your answer will depend on how much work you want to do and your level of proficiency. The listing of GCW in the MTAC syllabus repertoire requirements may be taken as an indication of the book's quality.

Hard to beat an Alfred Masterworks volume, and this one is tops. Nice clean book with clear music. Doesn't lay flat very well but it's only a minor inconvenience. Gershwin's music is among my favorite. Playing through these selections is a pure joy, though some take a lot of practice to nail down.If you like Gershwin this is a must have.

The book is worth buying, however many of the pieces are disappointing because Maurice Hinson decided to to only include 2 pages of many of the pieces when I know the piece is at least 4 or 5 pages when listening to the actual piano rolls of Gershwin's piano solos. Also, the good number of pieces that are shortened by Maurice Hinson are not even close transcriptions to the way Gershwin recorded them on the piano rolls. However, if you overlook the short pieces that are not accurately transcribed, the book is worth getting if you want Rhapsody in Blue, the Preludes, I Got Rythm, Rialto Ripples, The Man I love and a few more. Those are transcribed very well as far as I can tell. It's disappointing that Swanee, Sweet and Low Down and others that Gershwin recorded as piano solos on piano roll are not transcribed even close to his piano rolls and also are not complete with at least 2 or 3 pages cutoff in these transcriptions. Not happy about that, but the book is still worth it due to the pieces I previously mentioned that are accurate transcriptions (mostly) and are complete pieces.Definitely should not be called "Complete Works for Solo Piano" because it isn't and there is not one that exists as far as I know. If Hinson had included the entire piece of everything in this book I probably would rate it a 5 star rating. Assuming they were transcribed at least close to the piano rolls I would definitely rate this book a 5 star. But they didn't do those things, so I can only give it a 4 star rating. Title is misleading, but I would still recommend the book for the complete pieces it does include.

Here is all the good solo music by Gershwin. A lot of it is hard, too. Here is the solo version or Rhapsody in Blue. Not only the 3 preludes are here, but others that were originally intended as part of that grouping. The song arrangements (The George Gershwin Songbook). Even some incomplete compositions are here. Don't think these are for the average home pianist. These were for George himself, and he had honed his pianistic abilities to the best. But to have this music in one volume is a treat for anyone.

Thank you for compiling all of George Gershwin's music in one volume. I especially like the lesser known compositions ( Three Quarter Blues and Promenade).The best is the original opening of Porgy and Bess. This was later changed to the overture thatthe public is most familiar with now but it is great to see the original in in original form.Great for Gershwin fans, even if you don't play or read music.

Of all the Gershwin books out there this one possibly contains the most quality arrangements for the price. It not only contains the full piano solo version of Rhapsody in blue, which takes up over 20 pages, but also his early classics like Swanee, Sweet and Low Down, and Novelette in Fourths. It contains a good chunk of his early piano solo works like I Got Rhythm variations but it also does leave out some of his most famous works like An American in Paris, which is another piece that takes up over 20 pages typically, and his Bessie and Porg songs are left out. Still, for the price it does contain the all famous Rhapsody in Blue in its most popular arrangement style and a lot of his other classics, more than most other Gershwin books.
