Serves 4 2 large shallots, peeled and minced 4 cloves garlic, peeled and minced 2 teaspoons minced thyme Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste 1 teaspoon minced rosemary 1 pound portobello mushrooms, stemmed and cut into large pieces 1 ounce porcini mushrooms, soaked for 30 minutes in 1 cup of hot water that has just been boiled ½ cup dry white wine 1 pound whole-grain fettuccine, cooked according to package directions, drained, and kept warm 1 cup Tofu Sour Cream (recipe follows) Chopped parsley Place the shallots in a large skillet and sauté over a medium heat for 8 minutes. Add water 1 to 2 tablespoons at a time to keep them from sticking. Add the garlic and thyme, and cook for another minute. Stir in the salt and pepper, rosemary, and the portobello mushrooms and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the porcini mushrooms, and their soaking liquid, and the wine. Stir, and cook over medium-low heat for 20 minutes. When the stroganoff is finished cooking, stir in the sour cream. Add the cooked noodles and toss well. Serve garnished with the parsley. Tofu Sour Cream Use this healthy dairy alternative in any dish that calls for sour cream. Serve it with baked potatoes and fresh chives, with tacos or enchiladas, or with Mushroom Stroganoff. Makes 1½ cups 1 package extra firm lite silken tofu, drained 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar Salt to taste Combine all ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth and creamy. Chill until ready to serve.

I think these recipes are fantastic and I will keep this book for certain to add variety and plant-based ideas to my kitchen both for myself and my partner as we try to inlcude more ways to eat vegetables daily, as well as for cooking for any guest that is vegetarian or vegan.That being said, I am not vegan and will never be vegan... I simply do not believe it is a healthier lifestyle, as humans have always, I repeat *always* been omnivores throughout history. There is no such thing as a traditional vegan society. But nonetheless, I like these recipes and ideas and, being an omnivore, it adds wonderful variation to my cooking and kitchen.

I have been WFPB for over 6 months now and there is some great information in this book. Something that was important to me was making sure a WFPB diet was sustainable and that means having a variety of foods to choose from so I do not get sick of having the same thing over and over.There always seems to be something a little off with the recipes in this book. Unfortunately, you never know what they are until your just about to finish completing the meal. It also lacks pictures of the recipes that other Plant Based cookbooks contain. We often eat with our eyes first, so it really hurts the effectiveness of picking something to make, especially when we are not familiar with a particular delicacy.A couple of examples where the recipes kind of fall short - made the Mac and No-Cheese, ok recipe/casserole, but there was nowhere near enough no-cheese sauce for dish.Made the tomato soup recipe - said it feeds 4, there was barely enough for 3 meals which was disappointing because it was very good!Pesto sauce - WAY too much garlic.Mushroom Stroganoff - Again, not enough sauce. You end up with a lot of noodles and a splash of sauce.The recipes are some kind of mix of too much/not enough and you will not know until it's too late. This can be very frustrating and could potentially deter someone for advancing their plant based diet.For comparison, I have had a great experience with Kim Campbell's PlantPure Nation cookbook and Rip Esselstyn's Plant Strong Recipe book. I recommend these two books for starting your WFPB journey opposed to the Forks Over Knives cookbook. I have had a lot of success with their recipes and may come back to this when I need something new to try.

Might as well title this 300 recipes for quinoa. I mean I like quinoa, but geez, the recipes continue to repeat themselves with slightly different versions of the same thing.

I am plant based in my food choices but this cookbook was a disappointment. I’m not interested in recipes that call for so many ingredients and sauces, dressings, and concoctions that have to be made before you can complete it. Simple is way better and these recipes are far from simple.

I have been vegan for two years in large part to the Forks Over Knives documentary. However, the recipes in this book are - I'm sorry to say - just plain awful. For some reason the author puts sweeteners in just about everything (especially brown rice syrup) which is unnecessary and tastes bizarre most of the time. This is combined with dull flavors which make the frequently inedible. I've tried about 20 to 30 recipes from this book and have really wanted to like it...I just don't. Best advice: find some great vegan cooking blogs and use those recipes. Otherwise The Passionate Vegetarian is always a good resource.

I've followed the recipes in this book/plan very closely for over 12 weeks now and I've lost 47 lbs. This is a must read for those of you who have always failed at losing weight or just want a better health profile. You won't be disappointed!

Careful if you are an autoimmune eater. I am allergic to nightshades and coconut and this book had the majority of the recipes with these two ingredients. Also, a very long ingredients list for most things. If you are busy look for healthy meals that take under 20 minutes to prepare, this is not the book for you!

I really like the vast majority of recipes available in this book. Some are really complicated to make. I have noticed that most of the recipes I come across are geared for those with a taste for really spicy food. This works for me because I like spicy food. Many of the recipes do call for some very expensive ingredients, even if you are a really thrifty shopper.

I'm not much of a cook, but after seeing the documentary I knew I wanted to eat a more plant based diet. Using this cookbook and a pressure cooker I learned how to make delicious, healthy, meals. In one long weekend I felt like a pro. These recipes use easy to find ingredients, and encourage the fresh versions, have clearly written directions, and most importantly the food is very good.

I bought this for my child who is finishing up middle school and wanted to review basic algebra skills before moving on to the next level. We are really pleased with the quality of this book. I really like the approach that Spectrum uses to build skills and to review while building. Each chapter has a pretest to see what you already know, a lesson with practice problems and then a post-test that incorporates previous skills so that you are always adding on and still working on what you learned. You are not just thrown problems and then never shown them again, this has a good balance of learning with review. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to help their child with an extra boost or needing a bit more review as well as a supplementary curriculum.

My son is in fifth grade and completing Saxon Math level 8/7 for homeschool; this book has been an excellent companion, and we're already halfway through it with no issues. It has some short notes at the top of each new lesson, and then problems to complete. We also purchased the probability and statistics book for the same level/age group.

I like the fact that this workbook has a pre and post test for each section. I like that you can rip the answer key out of the back. I'm not sure how much "Algebra" is in it, maybe toward the back. My daughter has not taken Algebra or Pre-algebra, and she is doing just fine. I also like how each section explains what the book is talking about before they are required to answer questions. It gives a reference for the kids so they don't need to ask for a lot of help.

Just what I hoped for. It's a good challenge for my rising 6th grader. Good examples, she's able to figure out concepts that she hasn't been taught yet in school. Great practice for over the summer to keep her sharp.

This company solidly provides excellent middle school math book and extensive work with this solid workbook has helped many of my students. Includes answers which many Algebra workbooks do not. How long do you want to spend checking work as a teacher? Spend your time teaching and let students check their own work! So glad I found this book.

I use these every year. The only thing I wish these came with, and all workbooks for that matter, are MORE pages of practice. And possibly a little better explanation on certain problems as to how to arrive at the answer. But great for just practice.

Chapter 1 "How white the moonlight is tonight!" said Anne Blythe to herself, as she went up the walk of the Wright garden to Diana Wright's front door, where little cherry-blossom petals were coming down on the salty, breeze-stirred air. She paused for a moment to look about her on hills and woods she had loved in olden days and still loved. Dear Avonlea! Glen St. Mary was home to her now and had been home for many years but Avonlea had something that Glen St. Mary could never have. Ghosts of herself met her at every turn...the fields she had roamed in welcomed her...unfading echoes of the old sweet life were all about her...every spot she looked upon had some lovely memory. There were haunted gardens here and there where bloomed all the roses of yesteryear. Anne always loved to come home to Avonlea even when, as now, the reason for her visit had been a sad one. She and Gilbert had come up for the funeral of his father and Anne had stayed for a week. Marilla and Mrs. Lynde could not bear to have her go away too soon. Her old porch gable room was always kept for her and when Anne had gone to it the night of her arrival she found that Mrs. Lynde had put a big, homey bouquet of spring flowers in it for her...a bouquet that, when Anne buried her face in it, seemed to hold all the fragrance of unforgotten years. The Anne-who-used-to-be was waiting there for her. Deep, dear old gladnesses stirred in her heart. The gable room was putting its arms around her...enclosing her...enveloping her. She looked lovingly at her old bed with the apple-leaf spread Mrs. Lynde had knitted and the spotless pillows trimmed with deep lace Mrs. Lynde had crocheted...at Marilla's braided rugs on the floor...at the mirror that had reflected the face of the little orphan, with her unwritten child's forehead, who had cried herself to sleep there that first night so long ago. Anne forgot that she was the joyful mother of five children...with Susan Baker again knitting mysterious bootees at Ingleside. She was Anne of Green Gables once more. Mrs. Lynde found her still staring dreamily in the mirror when she came in, bringing clean towels. "It's real good to have you home again, Anne, that's what. It's nine years since you went away, but Marilla and I can't seem to get over missing you. It's not so lonesome now since Davy got married...Millie is a real nice little thing...such pies!...though she's curious as a chipmunk about everything. But I've always said and always will say that there's nobody like you." "Ah, but this mirror can't be tricked, Mrs. Lynde. It's telling me plainly, ‘You're not as young as you once were,'" said Anne whimsically. "You've kept your complexion very well," said Mrs. Lynde consolingly. "It looks like a great big piece of gold in the sky, doesn't it?" said Mrs. Lynde, feeling that she was taking a wild, poetical flight and thankful that Marilla wasn't there to hear. "Look at those pointed firs coming out against it...and the birches in the hollow still holding their arms up to the silver sky. They're big trees now...they were just baby things when I came here...that does make me feel a bit old." "Trees are like children," said Mrs. Lynde. "It's dreadful the way they grow up the minute you turn your back on them. Look at Fred Wright...he's only thirteen but he's nearly as tall as his father. There's a hot chicken pie for supper and I made some of my lemon biscuits for you. You needn't be a mite afraid to sleep in that bed. I aired the sheets today...and Marilla didn't know I did it and gave them another airing...and Millie didn't know either of us did and gave them a third. I hope Mary Maria Blythe will get out tomorrow...she always enjoys a funeral so." "Aunt Mary Maria...Gilbert always calls her that although she is only his father's cousin...always calls me ‘Annie,'" shuddered Anne. "And the first time she saw me after I was married she said, ‘It's so strange Gilbert picked you. He could have had so many nice girls.' Perhaps that's why I've never liked her...and I know Gilbert doesn't either, though he's too clannish to admit it." "Will Gilbert be staying up long?" "No. He has to go back tomorrow night. He left a patient in a very critical condition." "Oh, well, I suppose there isn't much to keep him in Avonlea now, since his mother went last year. Old Mr. Blythe never held up his head after her death...just hadn't anything left to live for. The Blythes were always like that...always set their affections too much on earthly things. It's real sad to think there are none of them left in Avonlea. They were a fine old stock. But then...there's any amount of Sloanes. The Sloanes are still Sloanes, Anne, and will be forever and ever, world without end, amen." "Let there be as many Sloanes as there will, I'm going out after supper to walk all over the old orchard by moonlight. I suppose I'll have to go to bed finally...though I've always thought sleeping on moonlight nights a waste of time...but I'm going to wake early to see the first faint morning light steal over the Haunted Wood. The sky will turn to coral and the robins will be strutting around...perhaps a little gray sparrow will light on the windowsill...and there'll be gold and purple pansies to look at..." "But the rabbits has et up all the June lily bed," said Mrs. Lynde sadly, as she waddled downstairs, feeling secretly relieved that there need be no more talk about the moon. Anne had always been a bit queer that way. And there did not any longer seem to be much use in hoping she would outgrow it. Diana came down the walk to meet Anne. Even in the moonlight you saw that her hair was still black and her cheeks rosy and her eyes bright. But the moonlight could not hide that she was something stouter than in years agone...and Diana had never been what Avonlea folks called "skinny." "Don't worry, darling...I haven't come to stay..." "As if I'd worry over that," said Diana reproachfully. "You know I'd far rather spend the evening with you than go to the reception. I feel I haven't seen half enough of you and now you're going back day after tomorrow. But Fred's brother, you know...we've just got to go." "Of course you have. And I just ran up for a moment. I came the old way, Di...past the Dryad's Bubble...through the Haunted Wood...past your bowery old garden...and along by Willowmere. I even stopped to watch the willows upside down in the water as we always used to do. They've grown so." "Everything has," said Diana with a sigh. "When I look at young Fred! We've all changed so...except you. You never change, Anne. How do you keep so slim? Look at me!" "A bit matronish of course," laughed Anne. "But you've escaped the middle-aged spread so far, Di. As for my not changing...well, Mrs. H. B. Donnell agrees with you. She told me at the funeral that I didn't look a day older. But Mrs. Harmon Andrews doesn't. She said, ‘Dear me, Anne, how you've failed!' It's all in the beholder's eye...or conscience. The only time I feel I'm getting along a bit is when I look at the pictures in the magazines. The heroes and heroines in them are beginning to look too young to me. But never mind, Di...we're going to be girls again tomorrow. That's what I've come up to tell you. We're going to take an afternoon and evening off and visit all our old haunts...every one of them. We'll walk over the spring fields and through those ferny old woods. We'll see all the old familiar things we loved and hills where we'll find our youth again. Nothing ever seems impossible in spring, you know. We'll stop feeling parental and responsible and be as giddy as Mrs. Lynde really thinks me still in her heart of hearts. There's really no fun in being sensible all the time, Diana." "My, how like you that sounds! And I'd love to. But..." "There aren't any buts. I know you're thinking, ‘Who'll get the men's supper?'" "Not exactly. Anne Cordelia can get the men's supper as well as I can, if she is only eleven," said Diana proudly. "She was going to, anyway. I was going to the Ladies' Aid. But I won't. I'll go with you. It will be like having a dream come true. You know, Anne, lots of evenings I sit down and just pretend we're little girls again. I'll take our supper with us..." "And we'll eat it back in Hester Gray's garden...I suppose Hester Gray's garden is still there?" "I suppose so," said Diana doubtfully. "I've never been there since I was married. Anne Cordelia explores a lot...but I always tell her she mustn't go too far from home. She loves prowling about the woods...and one day when I scolded her for talking to herself in the garden she said she wasn't talking to herself...she was talking to the spirit of the flowers. You know that dolls' tea set with the tiny pink rosebuds you sent her for her ninth birthday. There isn't a piece broken...she's so careful. She only uses it when the Three Green People come to tea with her. I can't get out of her who she thinks they are. I declare in some ways, Anne, she's far more like you than she is like me." "Perhaps there's more in a name than Shakespeare allowed. Don't grudge Anne Cordelia her fancies, Diana. I'm always sorry for children who don't spend a few years in fairyland." "Olivia Sloane is our teacher now," said Diana doubtfully. "She's a B.A., you know, and just took the school for a year to be near her mother. She says children should be made to face realities." "Have I lived to hear you taking up with Sloanishness, Diana Wright?" "No...no...no! I don't like her a bit...She has such round staring blue eyes like all that clan. And I don't mind Anne Cordelia's fancies. They're pretty...just like yours used to be. I guess she'll get enough ‘reality' as life goes on." "Well, it's settled then. Come down to Green Gables about two and we'll have a drink of Marilla's red currant wine...she makes it now and then in spite of the minister and Mrs. Lynde...just to make us feel real devilish." Anne of Green Gables is a wonderful classic story and it gets 5 stars. This particular printing, however, is completely unacceptable. It's as if someone typed it into a document, and printed it off--no page numbers, not titled at the top of each page, the lines don't even break properly (see photo). Purchased as a gift, thankfully with enough time to purchase a better quality copy--probably for less money! A disgrace to the publishing community.

I LOVED Anne of Green Gables as a child and own the complete hard copy of the Anne series. Initially, I was delighted to find this collection of books written by one of my all time favorite authors for only $0.99 (kindle price. What a steal!) and felt I had to get the digital copy for my kindle at once. As soon as the product was delivered to my device, I began to read it since it's been years since I've visited the darling world that L.M Montgomery created.I was very surprised to find that I kept tripping on certain sentences; the writing didn't seem as smooth as I remembered. When I got to chapter 6, I decided to compare a sentence in the digital print to my old, yellowing physical copy of Anne of Green Gables book. I realized why I had some difficulty reading my new digital copy: THERE ARE TYPOS IN THIS PRODUCT.It contains the WORST kinds of typos. There are typos in which it results in sentences that don't make sense. There are typos with the wrong pronouns in them that make it confusing for the reader to understand which character the publisher meant to write about. I am able to follow the story because I've read Anne of Green Gables more than once with my hard copy but for new readers, these typos will make this beautiful story difficult to read and at times, understand.I hope the digital copy can be fixed so that owners can enjoy L.M. Montgomery's work as it was meant to be enjoyed. I have given this two stars instead of one because of the fabulous price for kindle readers.

BUYER BEWARE! The version published by "CreateSpace" is slapdash print-on-demand garbage. I hoped an illustrated version would be good for a child, but I returned it on first inspection. Nowhere could I find evidence of thought or effort in layout to justify any price. Illustrations are small, extremely infrequent, and essentially worthless. Some shameless soul has simply taken LM Montgomery's text, which, as it is in the public domain, is freely available to anyone, and tried to make money selling it. Interested readers would be advised to download a free ebook or pay for a handsomer edition, such as the Puffin In Bloom version. We went with the Puffin in Bloom version and are much more satisfied.

This is a great book, but buying this edition which Marco Pedulla purports to have translated constitutes buying stolen property.The book was written in Englilsh, so Pedulla has translated nothing. What he has done has taken material free in the public domain and offered it on Amazon.Amazon should NOT support theft.

The illustrations are actually random pictures that are creepy since they are in the beginning when Anne meets Mathew Cuthbert so they insinuate a romance between them. And the free audiobook is click bait to set you up to download an app and give your email address to spammers. Screen shots of the "illustrations" below.

This review is of the kindle version of Anne: The Green Gables Complete Collection and does not reflect on the L.M. Montgomery text. The Anne books have always been favorites of mine. Buy the book, but get another edition! First issue: Really random pics grabbed from some art history textbook do not qualify as illustrations. They are more distracting than I would have imagined. Why didn't they leave the totally unrelated images out? Second issue: This is some new definition of complete that I am unacquainted with. This is Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea only. None of the later books are included. False advertising. A text I am being pulled out of by unnecessary distractions. There have to be better options. I am going in search of one.

I would have returned this item but my window closed. This version explicitly states in the copy write that it is for sale only in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Why does that matter other than Amazon infringement on copyright? The appendix are missing which contains very important material making the book less usable.

I am grateful for this book. I like to really understand things and this book makes understanding a reality. It is an exemplary model of technical writing. This is the fourth book I have read on TCP/IP and it should have been the first. Since I am a network engineer with no background in programming some of the illustrations from BSD Unix sailed over my head but there was not enough of this to make me feel that any of my time was wasted. In fact, now I want to get a solid introduction to programming so that I can follow along with the rest of the series this book begins.

Very nice book. No missing pages and this should be for everybody pursuing CCIE.

I have been doing Internet protocol engineering for 12 years and I can say that people in the industry consider Comer Vol 1 to be the bible for Internetworking reference. The fourth edition is nearly three times as thick as my copy of the first edition. Douglas Comer keeps this book up to date and useful for modern Internet developers. If you're a student, read this book. I've gone through a lot of books that claim to be the same thing as Comer Vol 1 and have found none that really compare.

I knew nothing about TCP/IP. As a result, I bought a book "learn TCP/IP in 24 hours" and trashed it after I bought this book, no more 24 hour books. I had no idea what routing is and were to start looking for documents on the internet. This book is scientific and puts it all together. There were two good stories in this book for my liking. The 1st was "You Should Let Me Love You" by Anna Black. She's Awesome!And the 2nd was "Divorce Party" by Jada Pearl. She's Great!I like that all five authors wrote a book for older African-American women.Keep them coming.
